Prizes for School Children
29 May 2025
Our pupils at the Stepping Stones Model School in Esit Eket, Nigeria, achieved great things this week.
For the first time in the 19 years of the school, they got first place in both the marching and traditional dance competition at the local Children's Day celebrations.
As our supporters may know, Safe Child Africa was originally called Stepping Stones Nigeria and the first aim of the Charity was to work with the amazing local head-teacher, Grace Udua, and Chief, Victor Ikot to build the Stepping Stones Model School, which opened in 2006.
Today, nearly 20 years later, the school remains the most outstanding in the area and has provided 1,300+ pupils with an excellent education. 40% of the pupils at the school are provided with a scholarship, with the remaining paying a small termly fee to cover running costs.
It is amazing to see the school still doing so well, with happy teachers and thriving children. We are proud of you all!
Safe Child Africa thanks all our supporters and donors who make this work possible.
