20,000 Steps of Success...
…Is what each one of our Canal Challengers took, when they joined us on Saturday 6th May to take part in the 4th annual Canal Challenge, walking from Carnforth to Lancaster along the peaceful, meandering tow path.
This year, we were delighted to welcome back many familiar faces to the walk, including Chris who has taken part in the challenge since it began in 2014.
Chris had this to say: "This is my 4th year on the Canal Challenge. I take part in the run up to the Witches’ Way, which I am looking forward to again this year. These walks are a great way of raising funds for Safe Child Africa while at the same time having a great social day out. Not only have I been able to bring my friends along but I’ve made new ones too.”
Joining Chris and the other regular walkers this year, were a number of new supporters and SCA Africa team members too – clocking up an impressive 540,000 steps between them. The team raised over £600.00 to support children in the Niger Delta who are accused of witchcraft, as well as those who have been abused or abandoned.
We love how simple yet fun our Canal Challenge is. If you would like to set up a fundraising walk for us with friends - young or young at heart - get in touch with Lisa. She loves to help our supporters make things happen – just be careful as she’s super chatty!
